ROTH 2010 – Cool Calm and Elected
The God of Heaven was ready. Our colour for the day was a ‘sun setty’ yellow. Everything was so beautiful. For the first time I enjoyed volunteerism; a young man I was mentoring at the time; Sammy Smith did the decor, so professionally done! Another young lady Adetola, took care of photography and yet another mentee Ufuoma made my outfit for the day, it was so beautiful that I kept it for a long time.
We had women come from all over Lagos, and of course my mother who has never missed any edition of ROTH in all these years was in the room.
Our theme was Cool, Calm and Elected. God gave me a speaker to contact, when I did she asked what my theme was, I told her and she went off on a rant. Telling me how she didn’t have the time to be speaking at an event with Cool, Calm and Elected as the theme. (I wonder if she will be willing to speak at Run, Woman, Run). This was very discouraging for me because it was the first time I had instructions to ask someone to come speak. I went back to God and He told me to go ahead on my own… I learnt quickly to obey God in the smaller things. I could so easily have changed the theme to suit her Prophetic anointing but I followed God instead.
The date was 17th of July a day after my 40th birthday but I had no party, couldn’t even go to dinner with my husband because every penny mattered for ROTH.
That morning I got into the hall and I sat down and I knew heaven would be excited about the ambience in the place… My big Sister Mrs Tomi Odutola was my caterer and she went to town our salad was some exotic kiwi salad but every step I took I kept hearing the rant of how Cool, Calm and Elected was not a spiritual theme. To be continued (Watch out for post after next)
